Abstract

Summary The serum triglyceride levels in 27 patients with a variety of hepatic diseases were measured. Acute viral hepatitis, primary biliary cirrhosis, and extrahepatic obstructive jaundice all showed significant elevations. Patients with portal cirrhosis showed a less consistent and impressive elevation. No good correlation could be made between serum triglyceride levels and those of free fatty acids or the other conventional liver function studies.
