Alterations in expression of S6K1 isoforms in MCF7 cells have a strong impact on the locomotor activity as well as on S6K1 and Akt signaling

  • According to the National Cancer Registry, malignant tumors of the mammary gland make up the largest proportion in the structure of the cancer incidence of female population [1]

  • To create the MCF-7 cell lines with downregulated expression of all S6K1 isoforms or only main – p85 and p70 with unaffected expression of p60 isoform we introduced the CRISPR Cas9 gene editing technology and used the same DNA constructs as for HEK 293 cells [22, 23]

  • The CRISPR/Cas9 genome edi­ ting system was used for this purpose
