Abstract
SARS-CoV-2 infection has become the most recent global public health emergency declared by the World Health Organization. Given the constant development of guidelines, which allow us to correctly guide patients, it became important, initially, to extrapolate measures to be implemented through existing records of previous infections, such as SARS-CoV-1 and MERS-CoV. Patients should maintain follow-up, performing imaging tests, respiratory functional studies and respiratory and aerobic rehabilitation, to reduce the persistence of symptoms in activities of daily living or during physical activity. Athletes must undergo rigorous evaluations before resuming their activity.
