Abstract

Transvaginal follicular aspiration guided by ultrasonography that helps to take advantage of the genetic potential of females considered superior. However, follicular aspiration is not an invasive technique for the reproductive tract in which it is used once the organ is punctured by a needle for several times. Therefore, the present work aims to characterize macroscopic and histopathological changes in the uterus of bovine females submitted to a sequence of follicular punctures, created in the Uberaba-MG region. Histopathological examination revealed 56 lesions: 32% (18/56) acute endometritis, 7% (4/56) chronic endometritis, 29% (16/56) fibroma, 5% (3/56) panmetritis, 7% (4/56) cystic endometritis, 11% (6/56) leiomyoma, 2% (1/56) mucopurulent endometritis, 4% (2/56) muscular hyaline degeneration of the artery wall, 2% (1/56) polyp Endometrium, 2% (1/56) suppurative endometritis. It is concluded that these pathologies caused by follicular aspiration continue to promote subfertility in these animals.
