Abstract

The Diamond Valley reservoir serves 5,200 square miles of Southern California. To convert energy produced by the water flow into electricity, the water pumps needed to be converted to turbine generators. A worsening energy crisis called quick action, so the local engineers turned to the Power Conversion sector of ALSTOM for assistance.
