Abstract

The excitation functions of 89Y( $\alpha$ ,n) 92mNb, 89Y(d, $\alpha$ )87mSr, 89Y(d,2n)89cumZr and 89Y(d,p)90mY nuclear reactions using 10 MeV deuterons and 20 MeV $\alpha$ -particles were measured. Thin samples of Y2O3 were prepared on Al substrates using the sedimentation method. Two different stacks were irradiated for each nuclear reaction to cover all the energy range from threshold to maximum energy of the incident particle. Model calculations of the excitation functions of the above-mentioned nuclear reactions were performed using TALYS-1.6 and EMPIRE-3.2 codes. Variation of the input parameters on the TALYS code results were investigated by using different optical model parameters (OMP). The integral thick target yields were estimated for the investigated reactions based on the proposed average excitation functions.
