Abstract

A new process has already begun in Germany, in which the society accepts the migration phenomenon and through this acceptance -- also the multiculturalism within the society. Although the new process has just started reshaping social reality, with some segments o f the German society still defending the idea of homogeneous nation-state principles, a new conciousness -- especially in the big cities -- has been developing, highlighting the normality of multiculturalism and multi-religious aspect of society. Within this context, a new dialogue appears to be developing with the Muslim community, and a new discussion about this issue has already begun within the relatively conservative German society. In this respect, the role of Turkey in the integration of Muslims into German society, is also increasing.
