Abstract

A review is given of the papers presented at the All-Union Conference on Fast Optical Energy Conversion Processes in Photosynthesis, which was held on September 19–22, 1978 in Moscow. The main topics at this Conference were migration of excited states in photosynthetic membranes, mechanisms of electron transfer in the primary stage of photosynthesis, possibilities of utilizing laser technology in photobiological research, and theoretical aspects of electron transfer mechanisms in primary processes in photosynthesis.
