Abstract

An all-solid-state electrochromic window (SEW) employing prussian blue and electrodeposited WO 3 film with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) gel electrolyte with high conductivity (2 mS/cm) has been fabricated. The SEW has been found to have excellent electrochromism and memory characteristics. The W 4f core level of WO 3 film at different levels of coloration has been investigated using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). W 4f peaks become broader after coloration. Composite structures of W 4f peaks have been attributed to the existence of different final states, screened by different numbers of W 5d electrons.
