Abstract

This case study portrays how ALLSAFE, a mid-sized manufacturing firm in Southern Germany, made a transition from mechanistic to humanistic management practices. Highlighting the importance of a leadership philosophy centered on responsible freedom and voluntary responsibility, the study analyzes the strategic pathways through which ALLSAFE accomplishes to be profitable by way of humanistic management practices. The study is based on participant observation on-site plus qualitative interviews with employees of the firm.
