Abstract

A ‘semi-stable’ population of field-vole, Microtus agrestis L., has been investigated for allozyme variation. Eight out of 18 loci analyzed were found to be polymorphic. A deficiency of heterozygotes was observed: 32 % in females and 35.4 % in males, indicating subdivision of the population. The average heterozygosity, H, was estimated to 0.22 for the 18 loci investigated.
