Abstract

Future generation communication system wants to have excessive throughputs to fulfil user demand with lower cost and systematic management to transmit the data. In digital communication, the data rate is high. Therefore more transmission bandwidth is required for fast communication. In case of optical communication, a Salient element is all-optical logical gates. With the assist of optical amplifiers, all-optical logic gates implementation become easy. Recent works using an excessive - performing, a low- cost Reflective Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (RSOA) shows promising advantages in the design of all-optical devices. The all-optical XOR gate is logically designed for various input data with a continuous-wave (CW) laser in the RSOA-MZI structure. It is also designed to perform various arithmetic and logical operation. The operating speed of all- optical XOR gate is 300 Gbps. The OptiSystem7 software is used for simulation results of the design and to verify the truth table of the logic gate. The Quality Factor(QF) , Extinction Ratio (ER) and Bit Error Rate (BER) of the design are analysed.
