Abstract

Allocephalocorinae subfam. nov., a new subfamily of Enicocephalidae based on a new genus and species of Allocephalocoris zhengi Luo, Baňař & Xie, gen. et sp. nov., is described based on two specimens from mid-Cretaceous Burmese amber of northern Myanmar. The new taxon shares some plesiomorphies with other Mesozoic enicocephalids, but also has a series of autapomorphies, including ocelli missing (macropterous); posterior lobe of head narrow; pronotum flat with laminate explanation; forewing with an extremely large basal cell; and posterior lateral margin of pygophore with explanate lobe and tergite of pygophore with pairs of hook-shaped or triangular processes. Habitus photographs of the male and female, legs, head, pronotum, and terminalia are provided.
