Abstract
Abstract Juri Allik was born on March 3, 1949 in Tallinn, Estonia. He began his study of psychology at the University of Tartu in Estonia and received Ph.D. degrees from the University of Moscow in 1976 and the University of Tampere in Finland in 1991. He has taught at the University of Tartu throughout his career, and is now professor of psychology and chair of the Department of Psychology. He is a foreign member of the Finnish Academy of Sciences and Letters and a member of the Estonian Academy of Sciences. He served as president of the Estonian Psychological Association and is a recipient of the Estonian National Science Award in the Social Science category.
