Abstract

Allethrin applied to woolen cloth in emulsion baths at application temperatures of 54.4 and 100 satisfactorily protected the cloth against feeding damage by larvae of Attagentus megatoma (F.). The allethrin residues were highly resistant to removal by washing or drycleaning when applied at a calculated deposit of 0.5% by weight of the cloth at 100. The residues persisted through aging for a minimum of 12 months. The allethrin protected the cloth primarily by repelling the insects.
