Abstract

Abstract Research on the iconic turn claims that images follow their own logic and have their own epistemological value. This attribution seems to have had its effect on visual media. Graphic literature, for instance, has developed new topics and new principles of narration. A most interesting form is the so-called »educational comic«, which is not primarily designed to entertain but to convey central educational issues. The following essay presents some recent manifestations of a new >faith in images< within the medium educational comic.
