Abstract

This excellent and exhaustive book written for parents of allergic children is recommended for everyone, including nurses, teachers, and camp counselors, who is responsible for the care of this large segment of the pediatric population. The author writes with a clear and commonsense approach but never gives the impression that she is talking down to the reader. All physicians who care for children, including pediatricians as well as allergists, will find this work a valuable addition to their lending library. By today's standards its cost will allow its purchase by most parents of children who are under treatment for allergic diseases. As the author states in the introduction, it is not meant to be read from cover to cover but the chapters on Basic Information might be read by all, with further reading being directed by problems as they arise.
