Abstract

We present a case of allergic Curvularia sinusitis, with left lateral orbital displacement and diplopia associated with pansinusitis. Clues to diagnosis included thick green pasty mucoid nasal discharge, peripheral eosinophilia, elevated serum IgE, and elevated fungus-specific IgE and IgG. Allergic mucin with eosinophilia, Charcot-Leyden crystals, and fungal hyphae were found at surgery. The patient has responded to medications initially with oral and subsequently topical nasal steroids.
