Abstract

A glycogen-like structure is proposed for an allergenic glucan isolated from the mycelium of Trychophyton rubrum on the basis of the identification of oligosaccharides obtained by hydrolyses with alpha- and beta-amylase and pullulanase. This glucan has a completely different structure from glucans hitherto isolated from dermatophytes.
