Abstract

‘All Will Gather’ (ויאתיו) is a liturgical poem (פיוט) recited or sung (according to the custom of a congregation) during the Additional Service (מוסף) of each of the two days of Rosh Hashana (ראש השנה), and again in the Additional Service of Yom Kippur (יום כפור). Two translations of the liturgical poem are offered. The First Part of this essay has the Hebrew original and one translation of the liturgical poem: mine. The Second Part has the Hebrew original and two translations. One is from the Form of Prayers for the Day of Atonement (מחזור), published by the Hebrew Publishing Company in 1901. The other is my translation. Read the Hebrew original, the translation of the Hebrew Publishing Company, and my translation to see the superiority of my translation: fewer words, better expression of poetic concepts, and idiomatic English. The Third Part has some comments about the liturgical poem. See also Stephen Krueger, ‘Ecclesiastes: Comments and Translation’. https://ssrn.com/abstract=3534324
