Abstract

This profile traces the creative trajectory of the queer choreographer and performance maker Miguel Gutierrez. Drawing on José Esteban Muñoz’s theories of queer futurity and resistance, it analyzes the ways in which Gutierrez and his dancers defy reductive constraints on sexual, artistic, and political expression. It explores the politics of personality, style, and the male body as a site of desire.
