Abstract

In this paper, based on the nonlinear coupled model equations of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) under self-pumping circumstances and by semi-implicity Runge–Kutta method, dynamic simulation model is established. By this model in case of self-pumping, the characteristics of all-optically tuned group delay of transmission optical pulse are discussed in detail. The paper studies how the delay time of transmission pulse is affected by the parameters of grating and incidence pulse, and analyzes the conditions for obtaining the optimally tuned delay. Results show that the optimal combination of grating parameters, operating wavelength, and pulse parameters should be carefully selected for obtaining delay maximum and actually realizing all-optically tuned delay of dispersionless transmission pulse.
