Abstract

We propose an all-optical spectral quantization scheme based on soliton self-frequency shift (SSFS) and spectral compression (SC) in cascaded chalcogenide-silicon slot waveguides. The optical spectrum can be compressed to 13 nm after the process of SSFS. Simulation results show that the effective-number-of-bit of 4.966-bit can be improved by 2.076-bit compared with the scheme without SC.
