Abstract
Spatiotemporal mode-locked (STML) fiber lasers attract great interest owing to their distinctive spatiotemporal characteristics and potential to generate high-energy pulse. Herein, we report an all few-mode fiber figure-eight laser STML by a nonlinear amplifying loop mirror at 1.0 μm. The laser can generate single and multiple pulses at different central wavelengths. In particular, various types of bound-state solitons, such as conventional bound-state solitons and double bound-state solitons, are also achieved and further confirmed by the numerical simulations. The obtained results contribute to further understanding the nonlinear characteristics of STML fiber lasers and such a laser has potential applications in optical communications, especially in information coding.
