Abstract

The change from conventional film-screen radiography to digital radiography results in considerable changes in the operation of a radiology department. Here a number of such changes are described such as: a systematic method to arrive at new technique factors while maintaining image quality, the possibility of reducing film size for all examinations and thus reducing costs by 60% and the impact of digital technology on Quality Assurance requirements. It was found that some of the required changes had not been foreseen.
