Abstract
STRONG positive reactions for alkaline phosphatase have been reported in the basket or ‘myo-epithelial’ cells of the mammary gland of some pregnant and lactating mammals1,2. Progressive transfer of this activity from the basket cells to the adjacent capillary endothelium later in pregnancy has also been described1.
