Abstract

Alizarin complexone is a red fluorochrome bonding to calcifying tissues. Its doses needed for labelling have less toxicity than those of Alizarin red S or Hematoporphyrin. Alizarin complexone is suitable for use alone, or in combination with Tetracycline, Calcein, Calcein blue and Xylenol orange for polychrome sequential labelling of bone or dentin.
