Abstract

ABSTRACT Crowdsourced indoor route descriptions are increasingly used to provide user-friendly navigation services at low cost. In this study, we propose an approach for aligning indoor route descriptions and use the triangular model to visualize the aligned route descriptions. Linear route segments are represented as two-dimensional triangles, allowing navigation knowledge to be derived. The results show that the proposed approach can help to represent the hierarchical structure of multiple indoor route descriptions, identify the critical decision points that users frequently describe, and aggregate indoor route descriptions from different people to generate new route descriptions.
