Abstract

ABSTRACT: The 19.307 law, called Regulating Law of the Audiovisual Media Services or Media Law, has caused a strong impact by removing traditional paradigms on this theme in Uruguay. The author, starting with a general raise of the issue (based on the inter-American system of human rights), discusses the most problematic aspects of the new law, identifying various aspects that would be, in his opinion, unconstitutional.
