Abstract

Algites enteromorphoides (new species) is described as a compression fossil of a filamentous marine alga. The specimens were found in the shale portion of the Holts Summit Formation (Upper Devonian) in Boone County, Missouri. Comparison with an extant genus of alga is made on the basis of external morphology. Reproductive structures remain unknown.
