Abstract
The recent studies on the algal diversity of Sundarban Biosphere Reserve resulted in the documentation of a total of 26 taxa of algae belonging to different algal group viz. Cyanophyta, Chlorophyta, Euglenophyta, Rhodophyta and Bacillariophyta. Out of the 26 taxa enumerated, 8 taxa are newly reported from Sundarban Biosphere Reserve and two are new additions for the algal flora of west Bengal.
