Abstract
This article reviews the current status of experimental studies on Alfven eigenmodes excited by energetic ions in helical devices. Global Alfven Eigenmode (GAE) and Toroidal Alfven Eigenmode (TAE) are identified in terms of their magnetic shear profiles. Critical issues involved in this topic are discussed.
