Abstract

Summary This article describes the process of learning and some steps in the initial application of the TFP-A method. The author shares her experience with the reader that again and again torn between the poles of a classical psychoanalytic training and the need to turn to new psychoanalytic techniques and methods in the face of a growing number of structural pathologies in children and adolescents today. Her own ambivalence seems to her to be an expression of the proximity of the disorder to be treated – the borderline developmental disorder. However, in addition to the difficulties in bringing classical analysis and Transference Focused Psychotherapy together, the connecting elements between the TFP-A and Individual Psychology are also illustrated.
