Abstract

Alternative management practices are evaluated by stochastic dominance for a representative dairy farm in Wisconsin. Analysis of harvesting schedules, integrated pest management, and harvesting technology indicates that a mid-bud cutting schedule using silage technology achieves maximum income at a minimum risk. An additional benefit is reduced pesticide applications.
