Alexander Kisil: components of theatrical research method

Abstract

An attempt on the basis of archival materials and scientific works of Olexander Kisil to outline the main milestones of his scientific biography as a researcher of the theater, especially the methodological principles of the study of the history of Ukrainian theater was made. Kisil’s theoretical representations concerning the task, object and history of theater research methods were presented. The main elements, on which Kisil rests in his own works, were outlined, the concepts, on which the researcher relies, were analyzed. The main aspects of Kisil’s research, which distinguished his work from the studies of contemporary Ukrainian historians of Ukrainian theater, were described.
