Abstract
The chloroplatinum(II) chlorovinyl compounds trans-PtCl[CClC(H)R1](PMe2Ph)2, (R1= Me and Ph), react with alcohols R2OH to give alkoxycarbene complexes trans-{PtCl[C(OR2)CH2R1](PMe2Ph)2}+Cl–, (R2= Me, Et, and Prn), which may be isolated as stable hexafluorophosphate salts by the addition of AgPF6.
