Abstract
This book offers a helpful introduction to the relations between Hispania and the papacy during the early medieval period. While the work sometimes fails to maintain a consistent focus, it nevertheless provides a valuable service by bringing together the most important interactions between the papacy and the Spanish Church during this period for the first time. Thus, it enables those interested in the history of Spain and the medieval papacy to isolate and focus on this relationship in unprecedented detail.
