Abstract

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS-- More than 300 Mesopotamian scholars gathered at the University of Chicago9s famed Oriental Institute from 17 to 23 July. Although Iraq, heartland of their discipline, is closed to excavation, researchers presented fresh results from new and old excavations, including an analysis of a stele that recorded the exile of Babylonian King Nabonidus.
