Abstract
The synthesis of alumina–ceria with different ceria concentration was carried out by sol–gel method. After that, addition of Rh to samples to improve the oxygen mobility was made. The powders were characterized by diverse techniques such as specific surface area with Brunauer, Emmet and Teller method, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction and electron paramagnetic resonance. From X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction and electron paramagnetic resonance analysis evidence of multiple ceria species were elucidated in all the samples whose existence was attributed to the synthesis method and the role of Rh on oxygen mobility of the solid samples.
