Abstract
An Al based complex, tris((2-(1H-pyrazol-1-yl)pyridin-3-yl)oxy)aluminum (AlOx), was synthesized as the host material for green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs). The AlOx host material showed a high triplet energy of 2.75 eV for efficient energy transfer to green-emitting iridium(III) tris(2-phenylpyridine) (Ir(ppy)3) triplet emitter. A high quantum efficiency of 22.5% was obtained in the green PHOLEDs fabricated using the AlOx host material at a Ir(ppy)3 doping concentration of 3%.
