Abstract

Abstract Increasing economic requirements and changes in the labor market are driving the use of mobile robots in intralogistics. Human-robot interaction should therefore be made more intuitive. This article presents a human subject study on the usability of innovative acoustic signals for robots in nine interaction situations, augmented by interviews with domain experts. The central finding is the necessity of dividing signal types into vehicle-like motion signals and humanizing interaction signals.
