Abstract

Over the past few years, police violence has often occurred when providing security at mass demonstrations, as well as during arrests and investigations. This research discusses whether law enforcement by law enforcers who commit violence in carrying out their duties is in accordance with the values of justice, and what ideal law enforcement is for enforcers who commit violence in carrying out their duties. Through this sociological juridical research, the author uncovered two things, namely first, the implementation of law enforcement by law enforcers who commit violence does not apply the values of dignified justice. Second, ideal law enforcement for enforcers who commit violence in carrying out their duties has three indicators, namely, every victim must have the opportunity to exercise their rights and receive a fair and effective trial; victims including their relatives and dependents must receive effective remedies, which include restitution, compensation, and rehabilitation; and the elimination of impunity.
