Abstract

Article deals with academic library, being an integral part of any high school. The article discusses needs to evaluate activities of academic libraries; presents context of library performance measuring and describes the very notion of performance and assessment in academic library; deals with possibilities, techniques, practice and experience gained. Special attention is given to evaluation of academic library information resources which are the basis of all library services. Experience of Vilnius university library in using Conspectus method for analysis and assessment of library information resources is discussed: first preliminary results, potentials of Conspectus method, and plans for future.
