Abstract

AbstractArtificial intelligence (AI) is advancing at a phenomenal rate, and its applications have permeated our daily lives and changed the way humans learn. However, its use in education has been fraught with difficulties and ethical concerns. The goal of this study is to examine the potential, advantages and problems associated with the use of AI in education. A systematic review approach was used to identify the current research emphasis and offer an in-depth analysis of the function of AI technology in education. A total of 46 related articles were identified from the Scopus database. Three key themes emerged from the review: learning, education and teaching. The findings of this review paper demonstrate that AI has the ability to play a significant role in education and enhance the students’ learning experience. It not only assists teachers but is also useful for students too. With the help of AI, new techniques can be developed that can aid in efficient and effective learning and tutoring. This study fulfills the gap in current literature by offering a thematic analysis of the role of AI in education and provides analysis for researchers and practitioners for enhancing AI’s contribution in education. The study also highlights that meta-analysis should be employed to understand the effect of AI’s role in education.KeywordsAIEducationRole of AI in educationE-learning
