Abstract

A computer simulation program has been developed to study secondary cosmic ray particle showers in the full range of Earth’s atmosphere. This simulation program, called ECRS (earth cosmic ray shower) is based on Geant4 software package developed at CERN (Conseil Européen pour la Recherche Nucléaire). A proper atmospheric air density and geomagnetic field are implemented in this simulation program. The proton trajectories with different impact parameters and normal vertical cutoff rigidities are analyzed in comparison with existing data. These results and the simulated secondary cosmic shower particle distributions near Atlanta (33.46°N, 84.25°W) region are presented in this paper.
