Abstract

The authors examine applications of remote sensing (air photo) data in the study and monitoring of soils in areas where soil formation is the product of diverse and complex processes and factors. Keys to interpretation of basic soil properties and conditions promoting soil formation often may be based on such features visible on imagery as drainage patterns and rock bedding (outcrops), and are identified in greater detail in tabular form.
