Abstract

The experimental investigation and numerical modelling of flow around a cylinder with a localized heat source is carried out. The localized heat source is simulated by MHD - actuator where a plasma arc is moving under the influence of Lorentz force in the radial magnetic field around along a cylinder. It is shown that the presence of a rotating heat source leads to breaking of the external flow of symmetry, and the appearance of non-zero lift force and circulation.
