Abstract

This paper provides the overview of T-50/A-50 air data system, the overall air data calibration methods, and the calibration results. The distributed air data system is adopted to T-50/A-50 as the main air data system instead of a traditional centralized air data system. The major components of the distributed air data system of T-50/A50 are three conical integrated multi-function probes. The conventional noseboom also has been used to get an accurate reference air data during the full scale development. Lots of wind tunnel tests and flight tests were conducted to calibrate the distributed air data system. The conical shape of the integrated air data sensor has produced the very interesting aerodynamic phenomena during full scale development. This paper introduces how to modify the sensor to improve the air data system accuracy considering the aerodynamic characteristics of the conical shape air data sensor. The new requirement was developed for the air data system of T50/A-50.
