Abstract

In their interesting analysis of the Ovation investigational device exemption pivotal and continued access trials, Malas et al1 have presented evidence that a short proximal abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) neck length is independently associated with an increase in all-cause mortality at 5 years. If we are to believe this correlation is real, and the authors pointed out that others have also shown similar relationships between aneurysm features and mortality, perhaps we can develop our own version of the calcium score using the aortic anatomy.
