Abstract

Operational Support System (OSS) is basically a program which monitors and controls services of a Telecomm or a computerized Network and manages its overall operation from inception till end. The OSS software is used mainly for providing services to a Telecom network, maintaining the performance of the Network and making sure it’s availability to the user most of the time thus by reducing the down time. This paper basically describes various use cases of implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the OSS/BSS (Business Support System) Network with their respective system architecture model from start to end as how the model works and how AI helps in keeping the Network Model functioning and increasing the performance and overall availability of the Network thus increasing overall profits in running a particular Network. It also describes how OSS/BSS manages a Network using TMN (Telecommunication Management Network) architecture and FCAPS (Fault, Configuration, Account, Performance and Security) framework of TMN on which these use cases are built.
